Haga was created as Gothenburg’s first suburb. That was over 350 years ago. In the beginnig there were only low wooden houses in Haga. Later they were supplemented or replaced by so-called “landshövdingehus” – houses with groundfloors in stone and wooden top floors.
Still a big city with many nice places like Haga, the Fish Church, the Saltholmen big rock bathing place in the Nordic Sea (perfect in August!).

Haga is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Gothenburg. The pedestrian street Haga Nygata is lined with well-preserved houses, many in the characteristic Gothenburg style called “landshövdingehus” with one floor in brick and the rest in wood. Today they house plenty of independent shops and cafés.
